Founded in 1966 as the Pelzer Rescue Squad, we have evolved into one of South Carolina’s most advanced and best-trained rescue squads.
Pelzer Rescue Squad serves approximately 40,000 residents in Anderson, SC (2000 Census Bureau). Our area also includes fourteen miles of I-85 with daily traffic counts exceeding 50,000 vehicles (SCDOT 5/5/08).
Operations are based out of three stations located in Powdersville, Piedmont and Pelzer. These locations are staffed 24/7 with Advanced Life Support ambulance crews and equipment.
We respond to injuries, heart attacks, illnesses, vehicle collisions, house fires, and many other emergencies.
Our squad also provides non-emergent Basic Life Support transportation in Anderson, Greenville, Laurens, Abbeville, Oconee and Pickens.
